We may have a funny name, but we are serious about quality childrens programming.
One day, many years ago, company co-founder, Tyler Bohne was just an aspiring young writer and was coming home from one of his many summer jobs as an ice cream salesman. He wanted to tell his roomate at the time, company co-founder and best friend, Patrick Zielinski, how mean his new boss had been to him when he got lost on his route, but he couldnt think of the bosses name so he called him the headcheese, the fat boss. Well, Pat and Tyler fell to the floor laughing and the name stuck. It was simple, every time someone said it, it brought a smile.
We travel up to 30 miles with no charge for mileage. After that, we start with a modest $35.00 per diem for one hour of travel and try not to go up too much from there.
Yes. For instance, if you are in charge of booking shows for the district and you have three different libraries that need shows, you will receive a package deal and a rather large discount.
Absolutely! As a matter of fact, our new program "Cheesprov" is a great sampler of what we can do.
"Cheesprov" is a theater game and improvisation program that kids of all ages get to watch and participate in. We can put together an hour, or do a two week intensive, where students will perform a whole play for an audience at the end. We have many years of theater and improvisation training, as well as choreography, song, and storytelling.
No. Our simple and painless contract asks for a deposit, usually 50%, but if funding does not allow for payment until the program date, we can easily work that out.
Yes. Our seasonal program, "The Hipmas Carol" is hip with some word jazz and can be a bit much for children under grade 2 and our reading program "Betty Booklover" is great for kids up to the 4th grade, but "The Whale And The Sandpiper" is an engaging and fun storytelling romp that is very popular for all ages of kids, even adult kids!
Our new program "Cheesprov" is excellent for all ages and works better in small groups, so we can do multiple workshops in a day for a good price and customize the games and exercises to specific age groups.
Absolutely.
This question
comes up
a lot.
While we
are performing
an adaptation
of "A
Christmas
Carol",
our story
scat jazzy
version
concentrates
on the
heart of
the tale-
the transformation
from bad
to good,
and we
can replace
the word "Christmas" with "Hipmas" throughout,
explaining
that "Hipmas" stands
for new
beginnings.
Our children's
version
even starts
off with
a powerful
message
about embracing
all cultures
and backrounds.
Not only do we, its one of our specialties. From award banquets to anniversaries and birthday parties to business meetings, we personalize and create a day or night of fun, whether we are playfully profiling the guest of honor or following a treasure map to locate that special birthday boy, we will customize a performance menu that you won't forget.
We add a
couple of
dashes of
improvisation,
a feast of
good humor,
a couple
splashes
of big characters
and for dessert,
we create
it how you
want it!
We can also
come as characters
that perfectly
fit your
theme, we
simply mingle
with your
guests and
take pictures.
Yes.
We have
had a great
deal of
success
and experience
performing
for all
types of
needs.
